bio

David Douglas (b. 1989 Connecticut, USA) is a painter whose works reveal the profound connections between self, surroundings and the diverse cultures that fuel his artistic motivations. Using color as a guiding thread, the interconectivity of chromatic spaces demonstrate spontinaity and celebratory desire.

Drawing inspiration from memories, watercolors, and life sketches, his compositions exude a comprehensive harmony. Viewers are invited to contemplate a synthesis of nature, figures, portraits and familiar narratives within his imagery.

He recieved his BFA from The New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2012 and has since lived and exhibited internationally. He was a resident artist at La Cite des Arts Internationale in Paris in both 2013 and 2020. He participated in several group and solo exhibitions in France, Chile, Haiti and the United States, and has work included in both public and private collections.
